Government ministers and senior officials were engaged in a crucial meeting aimed at shaping the future direction of the Virgin Islands today.

The event brought together ministers, permanent secretaries, department heads, to engage in critical discussions focused on the operationalisation of key legislative measures and strategic plans for the Territory.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley, shared insights into strengthening government communication and policy effectiveness.

Premier Wheatley said, "As we move forward, it is essential that we work collaboratively to ensure that the Virgin Islands continues to grow and thrive. This meeting is just one of many steps in ensuring that we are aligning our policies with the needs of our people, and that we are working together to create a prosperous future for all."

The session began with a presentation on the Public Service Management Act (PSMA), 2024, followed by discussions on its management and administration.

Ministers and their respective Permanent Secretaries deliberated on aligning ministry priorities with national goals with a strong emphasis on the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) which focuses on improving governance, planning, budgeting, and reporting.

The meeting represents a vital step in advancing the government's vision and priorities, ensuring the implementation of policies that foster sustainable growth and development in the Virgin Islands.
