Former child soldier from the Sudanese Civil War, Mr. Emmanuel Jal is pictured performing during the general assembly at the Elmore Stoutt High School on March 1.

The event was facilitated by the faculty and staff of the school in collaboration with the Unite BVI Foundation, founded by Sir Richard Branson.

According to, young Emmanuel Jal fought as a child soldier in Sudan for five years until he was rescued by an aid worker.
