Displays from the exhibition and market days held on March 19 and March 20 are featured from this year’s Farmers and Fishers’ Week on the Farm Grounds in Paraquita Bay.  In addition, a panel discussion featuring stakeholders in the agricultural and fisheries sectors was organised to promote capacity building in these areas. Two of this year’s honourees from Tortola are farmer Mr. David Matthias and fisherman Mr. Clifton Thomas who were both recognised for their contributions and dedications to the development of agriculture and fisheries in the Virgin Islands . This year’s Farmers and Fishers’ Week reiterated the importance of food security and supporting local livelihoods through food production.
