The public is notified that in accordance with CAP 42 (1), all premises, excluding clubs and hotels, at which intoxicating liquor is sold that desire to remain open on special occasions beyond midnight and sell liquor should note the following:

  • a letter application must be made to the Financial Secretary stating the details of the request for extension of bar hours (the occasion, the date, how long the extension is requested for);
  • applications should be made at least two (2) weeks before the scheduled function;
  • applications should be accompanied by valid trade and liquor licences;
  • where trade and liquor licences have expired, proof of renewal must be submitted with applications (receipts); and
  • consideration will only be given to applications that have all supporting documents.

The public is also advised that the Financial Secretary only has powers to grant extensions for bar hours beyond those stipulated by law. Noise permit applications should be made directly to the Commissioner of Police.
