BVI Finance, in partnership with the Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation, is delighted to announce the return of the Tomorrow’s Leaders Internship Programme following its highly successful inaugural year. This initiative aims to provide BVI students with invaluable work experience in the financial services industry, fostering the development of future decision-makers through hands-on learning opportunities.
Building the next generation of financial services professionals, The Tomorrow’s Leaders Internship Programme connects tertiary-level students with leading financial services firms, allowing them to gain practical experience and insights into various industry sectors. Through mentorship and real-world exposure, this programme is instrumental in shaping the next generation of professionals who will drive innovation and growth in the Financial Services Industry.
The Summer Internship Programme will run from May to September 2025 and is open to local college and university level students as well as BVI students at universities abroad.
Students studying or interested in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Accounting
- Banking
- Compliance
- Fintech
- Funds
- Insolvency
- Insurance
- International Tax
- Law
- Marketing/Communications
- Regulatory
- Other related areas
This initiative not only provides students with valuable industry exposure but also offers local firms an opportunity to mentor aspiring professionals while benefiting from fresh insights and perspectives.
Last year, 21 students were able to intern at 14 local firms, experiencing an enriching and immersive experience. This year, we are thrilled to welcome back many of last year’s participating firms, along with new and exciting additions.

We are proud to offer this opportunity once again and look forward to seeing more students gain meaningful industry experience.”
Premier and Minister for Financial Services, Dr. the Hon. Natalio D. Wheatley, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Investing in our youth is investing in the future of the Virgin Islands. This programme bridges the gap between education and professional experience, providing our students with the skills and exposure needed to excel in the financial services industry. We encourage all eligible students to take full advantage of this opportunity.”
