Persons interested in participating in the tsunami evacuation exercise (CARIBE WAVE 17) on March 21 are encouraged to register with the Department of Disaster Management (DDM).

The exercise will provide an opportunity for the Territory to validate and update its tsunami response plans, improve the tsunami warning system’s effectiveness and promote tsunami preparedness.

Agencies will also be able to test their tsunami preparedness plans and identify any shortcomings which will need to be addressed should an actual tsunami impact the Territory in the future.

Persons interested in participating should contact the DDM on or before Wednesday, March 15 at 468-4200 or email chicks@gov.vg for registration and guidelines.
