The Town and Country Planning Department is advising all contractors and developers to secure their construction sites as soon as possible in preparation for Hurricane Danny. The Department of Disaster Management is expecting the hurricane to impact the Virgin Islands early next week with the potential for heavy rain and tropical storm-force winds.

Accordingly, all contractors and developers are being requested to secure their construction sites by Sunday, August 23.  This includes: clearing all construction debris; tying or banding together all loose plywood and lumber; and securing all other loose building materials to minimise potential damage to surrounding properties. All utilities on-site such as electricity, water or gas must also be turned off.
