BVI Services, a day programme for adults with disabilities is the recipient of several items donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).

The local Branch President of the church, Mr. Andrew Pollard made the presentation of two sewing machines, a laminator, a desk top computer and one printer/copier on July 13.

Supervisor of Disability Services within the Social Development Department, Ms. Lorna Dawson expressed thanks to Mr. Pollard for the church’s generosity and its commitment to follow through on its promise especially after the hurricanes.

The LDS Charities made a commitment back in June 2017 to provide requested resources to the programme as part of its humanitarian efforts. The need for new resources became more apparent after the extensive damage and loss caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Persons or organisations interested in making contributions towards the Disability Services Division are asked to contact telephone number 468-3650.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development aspires to provide a caring and integrated system of health and social services that facilitates human development and quality of life in the British Virgin Islands.
