The people of the Virgin Islands are invited to join together in one accord to sing songs of praise to God and to petition Him for continued favour during the Praise and Thanksgiving Service titled: ‘A TIME of PRAISE and PRAYER.’

According to Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, January 1, 2021 represents a new day in the Virgin Islands and a new beginning for the Government and people of the Territory.

“We are not going anywhere without God. He has been and continues to be so good to us. I make no reservations about this. We are where we are because of His grace and goodness,” the Premier said.

He added, “This service is about offering up waves upon waves of thanksgiving and praise. It is for us to agree and collectively seek God to terminate tragedies as we celebrate triumphs of 2020 and seal our faith and our future as we go into 2021 with God’s hand ordering our steps.”

The service is scheduled for Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Queen Elizabeth II Park from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A TIME of PRAISE and PRAYER is based on the scripture of 2 Chronicles chapter 20, and activities will include prayer and praise for thanksgiving, continued protection, praise and triumph, and prosperity.

Premier Fahie thanks the combined praise and worship team from the different congregations and all members of the clergy, including members of the BVI Christian Council for their continued support and leadership in celebrating God’s love.

The Praise and Thanksgiving Service is an initiative of the Government of the Virgin Islands which started in 2019. It is the forum through which the Government calls on the people to collectively pray and give God praise and thanks as the Territory progresses in BVILOVE.
