The Government of the Virgin Islands’ Cabinet has approved the appointment of members to serve on the Parole Board.

The board’s new incoming Chairperson is Mr. Ishmael Scatliffe, with new members Mrs. Rosemarie Flax and Ms. Fiona Forbes. Re-appointed members are Mr. Trefor Grant, Ms. Kya Huggins, Mr. Thomas Alexander and Reverend Paul Ricketts. Each member will serve for a period of three years.

The establishment of the Parole Board is in accordance with the Parole Act, 2000 which makes recommendations for the release of prisoners on licence and related matters.

The board is also responsible for the revocation of any licence and the recall to prison of a person released on licence.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development aspires to provide a caring and integrated system of health and social services that facilitate human development and improves the quality of life in the Virgin Islands.
