Today is observed as International Human Rights Day, which marks when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. Today also marks the end of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence that began on November 25. To recognise the occasion, the Office of Gender Affairs with the support of the Governor’s Office held a ceremony to remember those who lost their lives due to violence in the Territory with a balloon release using eco-friend balloons.
