The British Virgin Islands (BVI) Hong Kong Office brought together staff from its office, the BVI Financial Services Commission – Hong Kong, as well as students of the BVI Asia Abroad Scholarship Programme in its annual Christmas lunch last Saturday.

Director of the BVI Hong Kong Office, Dr. Ricardo Wheatley said the festive gathering on December 21 provided a warm and meaningful opportunity for the students to connect with one another and celebrate the season.

Dr. Wheatley said, “We are thrilled to bring together our students and staff here in Hong Kong for this special event. The continued growth of the BVI Asia Abroad Scholarship Programme is a clear reflection of the talent and ambition of the next generation of BVI leaders. We look forward to supporting these students as they continue to excel academically and professionally.”

Dr. Wheatley added that the BVI Asia Abroad Scholarship Programme, which supports VI students pursuing their studies in Asia, continues to expand each year, with an increasing number of students joining the initiative.

“The programme also provides tuition fee support, the programme fosters cross-cultural exchange, broadens academic horizons, and strengthens the BVI’s long-term investment in its young people’s futures,” the director said.

He further stated that this year’s event marks another successful milestone for the scholarship programme, which plays a pivotal role in offering students valuable international exposure, academic experiences, and personal development.
