The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) is informing its valued customers that on Saturday, May 6 at approximately 10:17 a.m. a fault occurred at the Henry Wilfred Smith Power Station which resulted in a total system shutdown.

The entire grid was restored by 2:55 p.m.  The cause of the fault is currently under investigation.

The corporation thanks residents and visitors to the Virgin Islands for their patience and regrets any inconvenience caused.
