The British Virgin Islands London Office has been closely monitoring the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United Kingdom (UK) and wider Europe.

Based on the World Health Organization’s declaration that the spread of COVID-19 is a public health emergency of international concern, the UK Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the UK from low to moderate.

Acting Director of BVI London Office, Tracy Bradshaw said, “I encourage all BVIslanders and Belongers visiting, residing or studying in the UK to monitor and adhere to the advice of Public Health England and National Health Service (NHS) England. Guidance may be found via the following links https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public and https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.”

The Acting Director added, “If persons believe they have symptoms of the virus or have been exposed to it, they are instructed NOT to visit the GP, pharmacy or hospital but to contact the NHS by dialing 111 and following advice on the next steps.”

UK based residents and students from the BVI are also strongly encouraged to register their contact details with the BVI London Office via the Students & Residents section of our website at www.bvi.org.uk.

For any enquiries, the office may be reached by email at enquiries@bvi.org.uk or by telephone at +44(0)207 355 9570 during the operating hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For persons with queries related to requirements for travel to the British Virgin Islands, please call the BVI London Office or send an email to us at enquiries@bvi.org.uk.

In the interest of public health, it is important that public traffic in and out of the office is limited until the Public Health England threat level is reduced.

The BVI London Office remains committed to supporting BVI interests and the welfare of BVI nationals in the UK.
