The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has approved granting the public full access to all beaches in the Territory for the purposes of exercise and therapy between the hours of 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This decision came into effect on June 18 with the new Imposition of a Curfew Order (No. 22) 2020 and will continue to be in force until July 2.

Prior to this decision being made, several beaches were open to the public for a specified amount of hours with the exception of the Baths and Devil’s Bay. As the Territory continues to open in phases, beach goers can now enjoy twelve (12) hours full access.

Beaches are being monitored by the Beach Monitoring Task Force to ensure that the COVID-19 protocols are adhered to. The public is also reminded to continue to follow the preventative measures and social distancing guidelines established by the Health Emergency Operations Centre.

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration continues to effectively manage and administer the natural resources of the Territory in a manner that safeguards lives and ensures long term sustainability.
