The BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA), is announcing the reopening of the following ports for fully vaccinated travellers and crew on 17 June 2021 per the 9th June Cabinet approval.

  • Sopher’s Hole Dock, West End
  • Dog Hole Dock, Jost Van Dyke
  • St. Thomas Bay Dock, Virgin Gorda

The reopening of these seaports is for International Ferry Passenger Operations only until further notice.  All other vessels are expected to use the present protocol which is to seek approval through the Minister for Health and the Governor’s Office.

Inter-island ferry operations continue to operate uninterrupted throughout the reopening of these ports of entry for international ferry operations.

Travellers utilising the seaports are reminded to please continue to wear a face mask, sanitise hands regularly and maintain physical distancing protocols while at our facilities.

ABOUT THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS PORTS AUTHORITY

The BVI Ports Authority is the managing authority for all official Sea Ports within the British Virgin Islands including the 60ft wide, 1,312 ft. long cruise pier that can berth ships up to a maximum tonnage of 180,000 GRT. The BVIPA is responsible for the welcoming and safe arrival of seafaring passengers, as well as the reception, handling and security of cargo and sea based trade.
