Press Release
The 3rd Annual Territorial Interdenominational Service of Thanksgiving and Intercession to pray for the leaders and people of the Territory will be held on Sunday, February 4.
The Government of the Virgin Islands, in collaboration with Aglow International Virgin Islands chapter will host the service at 4:00 p.m. at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre in Baugher’s Bay under the theme, ‘Rebuilding Stronger Together with Christ’.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE is encouraging Territory-wide participation in this worthwhile initiative as everyone unites to pray on behalf of the Virgin Islands.
Premier Smith said, “After the unparalleled destruction caused by Hurricane Irma, there’s no denying that this has been a harrowing experience for all of us. But through it all, we have to thank God that most of our lives have been spared, and we know where there is life there is hope.”
The Premier added, “My Government welcomes the opportunity to partner with the community and Aglow International as we recognise that we cannot do it alone. It is through prayer that we ask God to protect our families, our youth, and our Territory from natural and manmade disasters and that he arrests any problems threatening and destroying the fabric of our society.”
The service is designed to bring the community together and collectively thank God for his protection through 2017 and to invite his guidance, protection and favour on the Government and the people of the Territory in 2018.
Aglow International Virgin Islands chapter is the local branch of a worldwide Kingdom Ministry committed to seeing God’s will done on the earth as it is in heaven.
The local chapter of Aglow International meets on the last Saturday of each month at Fort Burt Hotel’s conference room at 3:00 p.m. It serves as an extended arm of churches and offers avenues for spiritual growth and development for believers through monthly meetings, Triple Cord Prayer Groups and charitable outreach in the community.
