Pioneer Status refers to the status conferred on an individual or business when they have been declared a pioneer investor to engage in a pioneer enterprise or service by Cabinet under the Pioneer Services and Enterprises Ordinance (Cap 297).


Step 1: Submit a completed application form along with a self-explanatory cover letter and required documents. (to the Premier’s Office)

Step 2: The application is reviewed and acknowledged.

Step 3: The application is processed to other governmental agencies for comments/approval.

Step 4: If approved or denied, the applicant will be informed.

Step 5: Once approved, the applicant can import the designated items duty free.

  • Valid Trade License(s)
  • Certificate of Good Standing (IRD & SSB)
  • Certificate of Incorporation(where applicable)
  • Lists of Items to be imported.
