The Government of the Virgin Islands, through Trade and Consumer Affairs Department is inviting the public, especially owners of small and medium sized businesses to a business presentation on Tuesday, March 31, at the H Lavity Stoutt Community College Marine Center at 10:00 a.m.

 

Virgin Gorda Festival Food Handlers’ Sessions March

The Environmental Health Division is notifying all food vendors and businesses participating in the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival that food handlers’ educational sessions are scheduled for Wednesday March 25, at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday April 1, at 9:00 a.m. at the conference room of the Flax building in Virgin Gorda.

Persons are encouraged to register for the two hour sessions early to avoid overcrowding.

All Invited To Eco-Walk

The Conservation and Fisheries department is inviting the public to participate in an educational and stimulating “Eco-Walk” scheduled for Saturday, April 25.

The walk will be led by the department’s staff and will start at the Market Square in Road Town at 5:00 a.m. Participants will walk through a special route  to Sea Cow’s Bay and back to Road Town.

Youth Encouraged To Register For Apprenticeship Programme

The Ministry of Education and Culture is encouraging unemployed youth between ages 18- 29 to register for a six month Apprenticeship Programme at the Youth Employment Services. Training for registrants will take place on March 23 to 25 and 27; from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Student Services conference room located on the third floor in the Ward’s Building.

The Ministry of Education and Culture Apprenticeship Programme will be launched with a Job Fair on Monday, March 30. The fair will be held at Maria’s by the Sea parking lot from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Participation Encouraged For National Risk Assessment Exercise

Businesses and organisations, including registered and not-yet-registered non-profit organisations are reminded that their participation is needed in the ongoing National Risk Assessment (NRA) exercise currently being conducted in the Territory.

The NRA exercise is confidential and information gathered will not be used for any other purpose; any information provided to NRA assessment teams is maintained solely by the NRA and will be kept in the strictest confidence.
