Tenders For Renovation Of Ground Floor - Road Town Fire Station

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the Renovation of the Ground Floor of the Road Town Fire Station.

The proposed works comprise of furnishing all plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in accordance with the aforementioned drawings and specifications.

Procurement Coordinator Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said, “Bidders registered in the Virgin Islands will be required to submit updated Certificates of Good Standing from the BVI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance and the Inland Revenue Department along with other documentations listed in the Tender Document ‘Instructions to Tenderers’ and that documents should be notarized no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.”

Mrs. Rhymer added that bidding documents will be available from Monday, July, 13 and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Renovation of the Ground Floor of Road Town Fire Station, Road Town, Tortola.”

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original and three (3) copies plus one (1) copy on a flash drive in a sealed envelope.  The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “Original” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “Copies”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope mark “Renovation of Ground Floor of Road Town Fire Station, Road Town, Tortola British Virgin Islands.” All bids must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August, 25 and addressed to:

Expression of Interest: Consultancy Services For The Design And Construction Management Of The West End Ferry Terminal

The Government of the Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of CDB No. 12/SRF-OR-BVI:

Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of the GOVI and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions oftheFinancingAgreement. TheFinancingAgreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, ifsuch payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than the GOVI shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.

The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency, the Executing Agency, now wishes to procure consultancy services for the Design and Construction Management of the West End Ferry Terminal.

The main objective of this consulting assignment is to provide architectural, engineering and contract management services for the West End Ferry Terminal Project from its planning phase to the handover for operation by the end-users. The consultant will be responsible for engaging stakeholders through all phases of the Project, leading the planning and development phases, and producing preliminary and final designs required for construction of the Project. The consulting assignment also includes assistance during the tendering and award of the construction works, and the construction supervision and contract management during implementation of the works. The duration of the assignment is expected to be for a period of 24 months.

The proposed works comprise of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the construction of the new Social Home in accordance with the drawings and specifications. 

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said, “Eligible tenderers are required to submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of Social Security, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue, the Commercial Registry and a valid Trade Licence along with detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed.” 

Mrs. Rhymer added that Tenderers must also provide a Bond/Tender Security not less than 1% of the bid price, by way of a Bank or accredited Insurance Company with their tender.

RDA now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Bob’s Gas Station – Slope Stabilization and Road Rehabilitation.

The works include, but are not limited to the following:

• General site clearance and disposal

• Cleaning and desilting of existing drains within 1km radius of Permanent Works

• Demolition of existing section of asphalt and reinforced concrete pavement

• Construction of 35m of reinforced concrete pavement with 50mm asphalt overlay

• Construction of 34m long by 2.5m high reinforced concrete retaining wall

• Construction of 190m of reinforced concrete box drains with metal grills

• Construction of 70m of swale drains

• Construction of 60m of reinforced concrete kerb walls

• Installation of 55m of guard rails

iii. Placing of 120m of 150mm thick concrete with 50mm thick asphalt overlay
• Construction of 24m long by 5m high reinforced concrete retaining wall
• Construction of 10m reinforced concrete bridge slab and box culvert
• Construction of 30m long reinforced concrete wing walls to box culvert
• Construction of 80m of reinforced box drains with metal gratings
• Construction of 40m of river training works, trapezoidal stone pitching and berms to existing ghut
• Construction of 70m of raised reinforced concrete sidewalk
