Today’s youth is the fastest growing demographic in the world’s population. According to a report from the World Bank, countries that invest in their youth have the opportunity to see a surge in economic growth. Those that do not invest in the lives of their young citizens, experience tensions that present obstacles to any growth.
The development and welfare of the youth in the Virgin Islands continue to be a priority for the Government, as the Ministry of Education and Culture moves forward with realising the goals of the National Youth Policy.
The Ministry of Education and Culture is inviting young persons to apply for jobs through its Apprenticeship Programme.
The Apprenticeship Programme is opened to unemployed young persons between ages 18 to 29 who have registered at the Youth Employment Services. To register, persons are asked to visit the Youth Employment Services office adjacent the old Post Office building in Road Town or telephone the programme’s coordinator, Mr. Albert Wheatley at 494-0045 or 541-1981.
