A pleasant good morning to one and all.  Today I am delighted to have this occasion to deliver to the Territory’s youth additional opportunities provided by their government for their personal and professional advancement.  

The Minimum Wage Advisory Committee mandated to investigate the working conditions of various professions and make recommendations to Government, will hold the first in a series of public meetings tomorrow.

The Minimum Wage Committee is inviting the public to attend a meeting to discuss the revision of the Territory’s Minimum Wages.

Public meetings will be held on Tortola at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall, on Wednesday March 18 at 7:00 p.m. and on Virgin Gorda at the Catholic Community Centre on Wednesday March 25, at 6:00 p.m.

The Committee seeks to convene meetings under the motto; “This is the time. Let your voice be heard.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering is in the Bahamas attending the Ninth International Labour Organisation Meeting of Caribbean Ministers.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour is informing 2014 applicants that Work Permit Exemptions (on the basis of marriage and school enrolment) are ready to be collected at the Ministry in the East Wing of the Central Administration Complex.
