Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, will discuss the role of the Caribbean in the economic development of the Americas when he addresses the International Economic Forum of the Americas Toronto Global Forum in Toronto, Canada on Thursday, July 9.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, is away from the Territory attending the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in Barbados.

In 2003, when I envisioned the start of the National Business Bureau; for our future, I saw a BVI where each entrepreneur would have access to a place that supported innovative ideas and assisted with the creation of new strategic business frameworks. 

Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering, has stressed the need for greater engagement between the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)  and the British Virgin Islands as an Associate Member.

The Social Development Department is inviting persons as young as 30 years old to begin planning for retirement by attending a seminar entitled “Mapping Your Retirement.” The seminar will be held on Thursday April 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Red Cross Conference Room.

Persons attending the seminar will learn how to manage their money and the 3+1 foundational building blocks of the retirement plan. All interested persons are invited to attend.

The Social Development Department is encouraging persons as young as 30 years of age to begin planning for retirement.

The department is hosting an aging enrichment seminar titled: “Mapping Your Retirement”, on Thursday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Red Cross Conference Room.
