Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye Rymer and the Managing Directors of Autland Heavy Equipment Limited are featured on May 7 as they signed contracts for works to begin on the construction of new reservoirs, retaining walls and metering at Zion Hill and Carrot Bay.

Mister Speaker, I would like to provide Honourable Members, and by extension the public, with an update on the work being done by your Virgin Islands Government to access the offer by the UK Government of Guarantees for Loans to facilitate recovery and development work following the devastating hurricanes of 2017.
Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye Rymer is currently representing the Territory at the 4th Caribbean Infrastructure Forum (CARIF 2020) being held in Jamaica on January 21 and 22.

Public service entities and their non-government organisation partners met today to identify how to combine their resources and expertise while working to restore the Territory’s mangroves.
Works are on-going as the Ministry of Health and Social Development along with the Recovery Development Agency (RDA) award C.W. General Maintenance a contract to dismantle the old incinerator at Pockwood Pond making way for a new one.
Officials will carry out an exercise to test the Territory’s ability to respond to an event that involves rescuing a large number of persons with injuries on November 13 and 14.
Deputy Governor, Mr. David Archer Jr. met with the Board of Directors of the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association’s (BVICCHA) to raise awareness as to how the business sector is expected to respond in relation to the closure of the Public Service following a disaster.
