Merchants in the Territory are invited to an important meeting with officials of Her Majesty’s Customs on Thursday, December 3, at the Customs Headquarters at 9:00 a.m. 

Changes to the amended Customs Management and Duties Act, 2010 schedule 7 will be discussed at a meeting with all stakeholders on Thursday, December 3.

Her Majesty’s Customs Department is informing persons who have a special interest in customs brokerage and the preparation of trade/merchant declaration forms, that effective October 1, the use of the code 99999 will be discontinued.  

Application forms are available online at www.bvi.gov.vg/Customs. Applicants are required to fill out the form and submit via email to caps@gov.vg.

Commissioner of Customs Mr. Wade Smith said the pieces of equipment detained in the operation by the department’s special units, appear to be in contravention of the Customs Management and Duties Act No. 6 of 2010.

The public is invited to join the Customs Department, for their 40^th Anniversary Thanksgiving Church Service on Sunday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church on Upper Main Street. 

Commissioner of Customs, Mr. Wade Smith said that this year’s event is being held to commemorate 40 years of exceptional service from the Customs Department.

Assistant Commissioner for Enforcement, Mr. Clinton Romney said Her Majesty’s Customs’ K-9 Unit and Mobile Task Force Unit intercepted a quantity of plant matter that appeared to be marijuana.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is reminding customs brokers, agents and traders that Her Majesty’s Customs is moving towards full automation of its Cargo Declaration system with the introduction of its automated Web Trader Programme on May 4.
