Jaleel Fernando Cameron an 11-year old student of the St. Georges Primary School will be the first to hoist the Commonwealth Flag when the Territory participates in its inaugural observance for the Fly-a-Flag for the Commonwealth initiative.

The Territory’s first Chief Minister, the late Honourable H. Lavity Stoutt, was credited as being an exceptional leader and architect of some of the Territory’s most significant projects, at celebrations to mark the 20th year since his passing.

The Office of Gender Affairs is celebrating BVI women who have made significant contributions to the development of the Territory as part of International Women’s Day celebration.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering is in the Bahamas attending the Ninth International Labour Organisation Meeting of Caribbean Ministers.

This announcement was made yesterday when the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs launched its Business of the Month and Innovative Business of the Year campaign.

Following a short visit over the New Year, HMS Severn has returned to the British Virgin Islands for a four-day formal visit from 2-5 March, 2015. The Ship is docked at Port Purcell.
