The Virgin Islands community has confirmed that health and fitness is a high priority by their overwhelming response to the Ministry of Health’s Fitness Movement Challenge.

Students and teachers of the Joyce Samuel Primary School were all smiles as they basked under the cool shade of a tent, during the school’s annual sports day at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds.
The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to deliver on its commitment to improve the Territory’s infrastructure and is inviting tenders for the reconstruction of road and slope stabilisation works at Huntum’s Ghut.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development continues to encourage pharmacovigilance within the Territory and is urging the community to become educated about how medicines interact with food, drink medical conditions and lifestyle.

Over 35 of the Territory’s students studying in the United Kingdom gathered at BVI House where they were encouraged to be ambassadors for the British Virgin Islands in the United Kingdom.
Premier and Minister for Tourism, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, is currently away from the Territory today leading a delegation to New York to advance the Territory’s tourism efforts as a prime destination in the global marketplace.

Five locally owned and operated businesses have been sponsored by the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs to participate in the 2015 Buy BVI Trade Expo.
The Minimum Wage Advisory Committee mandated to investigate the working conditions of various professions and make recommendations to Government, will hold the first in a series of public meetings tomorrow.
