The Department of Waste Management is currently carrying out a beautification project across the Territory that has employed 225 youngsters between the ages of 11 and 17.

Better management of the Territory’s Water Distribution Network is in the pipeline as a major contract was signed to curtail non-revenue water and create sustainability through the building of local capacity in leak detection.
The Government of the Virgin Islands has announced an upcoming increase in the Territory’s minimum wage. Deputy Premier and Minister for Financial Services, Labour, and Trade, Honourable Lorna Smith, OBE, disclosed that the minimum wage will rise to $8.50 per hour, effective from 30th November 2024.
Thirty-three public officers living and working on Anegada have completed Public Service 101, marking the completion of the course on each of the Territory’s four main islands.
