The Territory has made history in the captive insurance industry with the appointment of the Marketing Manager of BVI Finance, Ms. Alicia Green to the Executive Board of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE).
The National Emergency Operations Centre is advising residents of the British Virgin Islands that the Acting Governor, Mrs. V. The Inland Revenue Department is preparing to launch a comprehensive rebranding campaign in its ongoing efforts to educate the British Virgin Islands community about the services offered by the department. This campaign is scheduled to begin September 1 until December 18.
The British Virgin Islands has seen an increase in the number of visitors to the Territory this year, with initial tourism figures up by three percent over last year, signaling positive growth in the industry.
Virgin Islands’ youth are encouraged to register and join the Ministry of Education and Culture and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College’s joint Technical/Vocational Education and Training Apprenticeship Programme (TVET) for Fall 2015.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is advising that Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, is currently away from the Territory until August 25.
At 11:00 a.m., the centre of Hurricane Danny was located near latitude 12.5 degrees north, longitude 44.8 degrees west. Danny is moving toward the west near 12 miles per hour (mph). Movement is to the West North-West and is expected to continue for a couple of days.
