After the Special Sitting of the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands today, the Premier of the Virgin Islands, Honourable Andrew Fahie has officially announced the following:

A number of changes have been made to the operation of the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital and community health services as a result of the activation of the BVI Health Services Authority’s Hospital Incident Command System in response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Government of the Virgin Islands is closely monitoring the situation in relation to COVID-19. At this time, there are no restrictions announced for the Public Service. In the event that any such restrictions are announced by the Government, the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR) would provide guidance on levels of service that we are able to offer.

HMS Medway, one of the newest ships in the Royal Navy and the current Caribbean Guard Ship, will be paying a brief visit to the Territory over the coming days.
