Farmers and bird-handlers are reminded that requests for import permits are to be made to the Department of Agriculture before importing birds into the Territory.
The application must specify the origin of the birds and the intended arrival prior to arranging the importation.
Farmers and bird-handlers are also reminded that there is a live bird importation restriction on birds from specific jurisdictions in the United States and Canada.
The temporary importation restriction is in accordance with the Animal (Disease and Importation) Act (CAP 88 Section 3(i)).
Persons may contact the Department of Agriculture at 468-6123 or email email@example.com for more information.
