The Government of the Virgin Islands acting through the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities is seeking the services of a suitable locally based insurance company for the

provision of insurance for the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex. 

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said, “The aim of this project is to obtain insurance to cover the Administration Complex for the construction programme period of three years. The insurance being sought is for Contractor’s All Risk, Public Liability, and Fire and Extended Perils (inclusive of storms and earthquakes.” 

Mrs. Rhymer said eligible tenderers are required to submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes including payroll and property tax from BVI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue, the Commercial Registry; valid Trade Licence, detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed along with other documents as outlined in the tender document.

Tenderers must also present a Tender Bond/Tender Security not less than 1% of the bid price, by way of a bank or accredited insurance company.

Bidding documents are available from Tuesday, May 25, 2021 and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Tender for Insurance for Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex.”

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents. The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked “Tender for Insurance for Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex” and addressed to:

All tenders must be deposited no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), Qwomar Trading Building #2. Tenders will not be received after the Tender Box is closed.

A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. via WebEx. All prospective tenderers will be notified of the access code and password prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit.  All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Bldg. #2, 2nd Floor at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 and tenderers are invited to witness this process via WebEx. Tenderers will also be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
