Greetings to the people of the Virgin Islands, and especially my Second District community. It is that time of year again where we reflect on all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us.  It is that time where we remember the Christmas season. The main reason for this season is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ going to die on the cross for us over 2000 years ago. It is a time where we reflect, where we give back, and where we go over all the experiences we had.

This year started, 2020, a year that we in our minds had to be a visionary year. A year that we were going to see endless possibilities, and then we were struck with COVID-19. What this has done for us is allow us to again, reset, reflect, and then reconfigure the way we go about things. I believe in the Virgin Islands; we continue to show our love, and in this Christmas season, it is extremely important.

A lot of persons may not get the gifts and all the presents that they expect. Because of hard times, because of difficulties, some may have even lost their jobs or have to relocate to make ends meet for their families.

I, as the Second District Representative, want the people of the Virgin Islands to know, all people—whether black, white, Spanish, Hispanic, or wherever you may come from—to know that we are the Virgin Islands people. The love, the camaraderie, the passion and the compassion that we have is what will take us through the season. And as we reflect and go forward in this Christmas season, we have to know that God is on our side. And if he is for us, there is no one that can be against us. Through these difficult times, I want you to know that I will continue to fight for you, I will continue to be your voice, I will continue to be and do everything in my power to ensure that all persons in this Virgin Islands’ community live to the best of their expectations.

To all the children in the community, Second District and the wider Virgin Islands, to my beloved seniors, and all of us, I just want to say, on behalf of my family—my wife Jewel and my daughter M'Kyiah—and the entire second district community, I want to say Season’s Greetings to you. May God continue to bless these Virgin Islands. As we look toward 2021, know that he who has begun a work in you is able to see it through to completion. Let us keep our hope and trust in God, knowing that if he’s brought us through 2020, 2021 will be even more amazing. God bless you and God bless these Virgin Islands.
