The Environmental Health Division is alerting the public that fogging will be conducted in operations in and around the festival villages at Road Town, East End/Long Look and Carrot Bay as follows:

•           Road Town: Wednesday, August 2

•           East End/Long Look: Thursday, August 3

•           Carrot Bay: Thursday, August 10

Fogging will normally be done on mornings from 5:30 - 8:00 a.m. Pre-hurricane fogging Territory-wide will commence from the week of August 14.

Persons with respiratory illnesses, particularly asthmatics, should leave the areas being fogged for at least an hour.

Residents are reminded that fogging will provide only temporary relief from the mosquitoes. Householders and property owners must therefore, be vigilant in preventing mosquitoes from breeding in stagnant water around their homes and businesses. Self-inspections should be done weekly.

For further information on how to control the Aedes aegypti mosquito, telephone the Vector Control Unit of the Environmental Health Division at 468-5110.
