Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering will deliver the keynote address at the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Students Conference on November 29.
The conference will be held under theme, “Our Islands, Our Future Sustainable Development,” and will bring together ministers and students from the United Kingdom’s Overseas Territories.
Honourable Pickering who left the Territory on November 26, said the conference is an excellent opportunity for students to evaluate issues surrounding sustainable development, gain experience, learn new ideas and make contacts that will be valuable for their future careers. Virgin Islands student, Ms. Washeema Guishard is also expected to address the conference.
The United Kingdom Overseas Territories Student Conference is aimed at building links among Overseas Territory students who are currently based in the United Kingdom.
Students will attend from a broad range of disciplines including environmental and biological sciences, engineering, law and arts.
Dr. Pickering will return to the Territory on December 1.
