Responsiblities
1. Conduct announced or unannounced inspection on any vehicle for hire to determine its compliance with relevant legislation.
2. Receive and record complaints filed by customers regarding taxi or livery operators and prepare reports on the complaints for the Commission.
3. Conduct investigations into allegations regarding the taxi industry.
4. Monitor taxi or livery stands, bus stops and ports of entry to ensure orderly conduct of operators and compliance with relevant legislation.
5. Issue taxi and/or livery tickets for the purpose of imposing administrative penalties for offences committed under the regulations.
6. Prepare quarterly reports for the Commission on the number of inspections conducted, violations and penalties imposed.
7. Any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Director of the Commission.
Qualifications
1. High School Certificate or its equivalent
2. Five (5) to Seven (7) years experience working in the hospitality industry or similar environment.
Knowledge & Skills
1. Experience in conflict resolution and mediation.
2. Sound knowledge of the Transportation-for-Hire Industry.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Basic vehicle mechanical knowledge.
5. No direct or indirect interests in the Transportation-for-Hire Industry.
