Displaying fireworks in the British Virgin Islands is prohibited by law. Anyone who is desirous of having fireworks displayed should apply to the Ministry of Communication and Works for a one off exemption

On Thursday, December 4, Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) Project Supervisor for the BVI, Mr. Albert Gillings visited the Territory from Barbados to assess the progress of the CDB loan components. The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the Blackburn Highway in East End from the Methodist Church at Chapel Hill to the Beef Island Bridge will be partially closed from Saturday, December 6 to vehicular traffic. One lane will be opened to allow for traffic.
The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the road in that area. Motorists should exercise extreme caution when traversing the area and are also encouraged to seek alternative routes. Motorists should expect heavy traffic delays in the area.
