Friday, 8 May 2020 - 3:52pm

Today, I greet you in the wonderful name of the Great God of the Universe who continues to have mercy on us as a Territory.

On Monday, April 27 we lifted the 24hour 14-day curfew and we entered the ‘New Regular’—the new way of life living and working with COVID-19 in the British Virgin Islands.

We all stepped out in Faith, trusting in God, under a new curfew from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 P.M. daily, and this would be for the next 14 days until May 10, 2020.

Statement By Honourable Carvin Malone: Steady Progression Towards Reopening

Friday, 8 May 2020 - 3:33pm

The Excellency the Governor,Honourable Premier, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.  Before I begin, I would like to say that the month of May is quite special for it is the month that we celebrate our seniors; so May 1 to 30 is being celebrated as Seniors’ Month and I would like to wish all seniors although this year we would not be able to create all the plans that we have, we would like you to know that our golden gems are special indeed. Today, May 8 is also that of World Red Cross Day and you would no doubt be familiar of all the works that the Red Cross has done through out the world and here in the BVI, not only in 2017 but also as they have done their part in the Territory Provisioning Programme that we have and actually continue to do.

Statement by His Excellency the Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert On the Further Relaxing of COVID-19 Measures

Friday, 8 May 2020 - 3:27pm

Good afternoon all,  Before I start, I just wanted to briefly pause and recognise that today is 75 years from what is referred to as VE day – Victory in Europe.  This day marks the unconditional surrender by Nazi Germany in WWII bringing the end of the war in Europe. These events happened a long time ago, and many miles away. But it is important that we pause to remember and give thanks to the sacrifices of so many that allow us to have the freedoms and the liberty that we take for granted today.
