Tropical Storm Fiona has formed, and as of this afternoon, the Virgin Islands along with several of our regional neighbours are under Tropical Storm Watch.

His Excellency, the Acting Governor Mr. David Archer, Jr. chaired the Meeting held on 29th August 2022, in the absence of Governor John J. Rankin, CMG, who was overseas on annual leave. The Meeting was held at the Premier’s Office Conference Room.

The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has recently approved the re-establishment of the Technical Review Committee that will advise the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour on all matters regarding the sustainable development of the coastline, seabed and marine estate.

The Virgin Islands community is saddened by the news of the passing of former legislator, Honourable Cyril Lewis Walters, MBE, earlier today.

Since the start of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic in March 2020, the pockets of the people worldwide have been hit by the rise in the cost of goods and services.

The public is advised effective immediately and until further notice the portion of land at the Ellis Thomas Downs which is owned by Thomas family may not be utilised in any way by the Government, its agents and/or assigns. This includes the Horseowners’ Association, and any person connected thereto.

Like most of you, I was saddened to learn of the passing earlier today of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the British Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and other realms; and Head of the Commonwealth.
