The Youth Employment Services (YES) is an intitiative to match unemployed youth with available jobs in both the public and private sector. It has both short and long term goals:

  • Help the Labour Department provide jobs to employed youth  by matching vacancies with those who are in the market for work, and
  • Give the Ministry of Education and Culture some basic information that can be used in future policy changes

Young persons between the ages of 16 to 30 years old, who are looking for a job, can register at the Youth Employment Services at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Once you register, you will also be notfified about any training or apprenticeship opportunities offered specifically to those who are in the Youth Employment Service.

Since its launch in December 2011, every youth who has registered have been given practical training sessions including how to write applications, how to behave during interviews, how to write resumes, and dressing appropriately among others.
