Payment to eligible officers who have resided on a sister island for at least 12 months and are required to commute daily from a sister island to his or her place of work.


Step 1:  An Officer submits a completed Commuter Allowance Form alone with supporting documentation to the Department of Human Resources.

Step 2:  A response will be sent to the officer granting approval or denial of request.

Step 3:  If request is granted, payment of the allowance is calculated and submitted through the next payroll cycle run.  

Step 4:  The Officer may verify payment by reviewing his/her payslip.

Supporting Documents

  1. Proof of residency (ie. Copy of Utility bill, Lease, etc.) 
  2. Declaration of Residency for Commuter's Allowance signed by a District Officer
