Air Traffic Controllers at the BVI Airports Authority (the Authority) were recognised for their invaluable contributions when the Virgin Islands observed International Air Traffic Control Day on October 20.
The Government of the Virgin Islands has received US$552,297 from the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) to assist in recovery efforts following the passage of Tropical Storm Philippe on October 4.
Eleven (11) customer service leaders in the Public Service have completed the “Train the Trainer- Customer Service Course”, facilitated by Virgin Atlantic Limited.
The training was conducted through the Virgin Islands Public Service Learning Institute and engaged individuals in sessions that targeted their understanding of customers and their needs and engaging customers at a professional standard among other modules.
Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye Rymer has reassured Air Traffic Controllers that the Government of the Virgin Islands deeply values their invaluable work and is dedicated to addressing their concerns.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is informing farmers using agricultural plots on the Paraquita Bay Estate that a project is underway to review the use of the land and demonstrate sustainable land farming practices on eligible livestock and crop farms on the Estate.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley is attending the funeral of former USVI Senator Alicia “Chucky” Hansen, on behalf of the Government and people of the Virgin Islands.
The public is notified that the BVI Airports Authority (the Authority) will be hosting its biennial emergency simulation exercises at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (Beef Island), Auguste George International Airport (Anegada), and the Virgin Gorda International Airport (Virgin Gorda) between the period of Monday, October 16 and Friday, November 17.

Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye Rymer led a delegation through several areas of Road Town to assess the drainage situation ahead of Tropical Storm Tammy.
General Manager of the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) Dr. Neil Smith said the recently conducted comprehensive armed robbery simulation was a success.
Dr. Smith said the corporation, in a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its employees, conducted the exercise at its workplace last Friday as part of ongoing efforts to prepare and train team members for a wide range of emergency situations.
