Marking the 5^th anniversary of the unique partnership between the British Virgin Islands and Hertfordshire, Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, visited Hertfordshire today. 

Plans are being made to establish a Commonwealth Walkway here in Road Town as an enhancement to the city’s attraction.

The Ministry undertook the initiative as part of a project to name public health facilities in honour of community stalwarts who have contributed significantly to the BVI health sector.

All business owners in the Territory are reminded that the Department of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs is embarking on an educational campaign on the importance of business compliance.  Director of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs, Mrs. Karia Christopher stated, “The goal of this campaign is to educate the business community, inclusive of all businesses, on the importance of being compliant and raise awareness on the trade licensing process.”

The Ministry of Education and Culture, in collaboration with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) will launch the Financial Services Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Syllabus tomorrow, November 3. 

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE has hailed the success of the BVI's twinning partnership with Hertfordshire County Council at his annual Premier's Reception at BVI House in London on  October 31.

Acting Premier, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering led a delegation to Antigua and Barbuda on behalf of Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE from October 27 to 28 to discuss issues and seek solutions relative to correspondent banking relationships and its consequence on the Caribbean. 

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE has concluded a successful meeting of the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) Political Council of which he is currently President.

Officials from the Ministry of Education and Culture are moving towards introducing Physical Literacy in Virgin Islands’ schools. 

Effective today, all trader declarations will be completed and submitted online through the Customs Automated Processing System (CAPS) as Her Majesty’s Customs moves towards full automation.
