The Government of Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of CDB No. 12/SFR-OR-BVI: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued.
Director of Programme Strategy Department at the RDA and Project Lead Mr. Neil Smith said the Government of the Virgin Islands is developing an ambitious Waste Management Strategy aimed at maximum prevention, re-use and recovery of solid waste.

The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to invest in strengthening mental health and building community resilience of its people through the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MPHSS) project.
Teachers and students of the Althea Scatliffe Primary School (ASPS) have received copies of the Virgin Islands Environmental Atlas as the National Parks Trust moves to supply 200 copies to public and private schools across the Territory.
Healthcare facilities across the Territory are being encouraged to achieve effective hand hygiene action at the point of care, in observance of World Hand Hygiene Day.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley has stated that he plans to introduce legislation for certain species in the BVI to receive a higher degree of protection.
