ROLE SUMMARY
The successful applicant will create, advise, implement and manage all graphic productions, materials and presentations necessary to support the Information and Public Relations’ objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage and supervise employees of the Graphics Unit in the design and creation of effective and engaging designs that reflect the Department’s objectives whilst adhering to established brand guidelines and meeting requirements.
2. Receive and appropriately handle job order forms from Government departments as assigned by Information Officers to ensure effective workflow.
3. Establish quality standards and recommend industry standards to clients as required.
4. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports of work logged, assigned and complete and produce an annual report on the activities of the Graphic Unit to maintain effective department management.
5. Serve as a member of the Editorial Board of the Link.
6. Train and recommend appropriate training of staff as necessary to enhance the knowledge of the staff within the Department.
7. Maintain the Department’s equipment and software to ensure the availability of resources when needed.
8. Maintain the inventory levels for the unit ensuring supplies are in stock, liaise with local and overseas suppliers and vendors and prepare requisition ensuring accuracy.
9. Supervise the design of various advertising materials in order to promote the Industry.
10. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related area
  • Four (4) years working experience in a related area
  • Sound knowledge of the Government structure, policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Corel design
  • Excellent knowledge of elements and principles of design, using desktop publishing, visual communication and computer design software
  • Excellent knowledge of visual interpretation, image selection, colour theory, font selection and content distribution
  • Excellent analytical skills along with a strong artistic/creative capacity
  • Sound knowledge of the use of standard office equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Sound interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Sound supervisory skills
