ROLE SUMMARY
The successful applicant will develop, coordinate, design, and manage marketing materials for advertising events, public relations and promotional activities and engage in and manage multimedia communications for the Department in order to enhance the awareness and services of the financial services industry.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Liaise with approving officer to discuss assignments to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
2. Inform relevant personnel of any delays to assignments to ensure flow of information.
3. Liaise with approving officer to check accuracy of completed assignments to ensure department quality standards are maintained.
4. Submit a quarterly report regarding all assignments produced within the quarter for management information purposes.
5. Monitor the inventory of design supplies to ensure adequate stocks are maintained and available for use.
6. Prepare publications as required.
7. Prepare and typeset camera-ready design assignments as required.
8. Maintain online media resources and archives in order to be used for future reference.
9. Observe local and international press to monitor the image of the British Virgin Islands.
10. Assist with the management and coordination of the advertising portfolio.
11. Manage workflow and scheduling of all media production to ensure timely, quality, high standard and effective production of the various forms of media.
12. Liaise with webmaster and manage the effective updating of the website layout functionality and content.
13. Create effective and engaging publications and designs that reflect the Department’s objectives on behalf of the financial services private sector, adhering to established brand guidelines and to meet requirements with minimal direction.
14. Create accurate and complete production presentations, samples, and files using knowledge of various artistic and digital processes, finishing’s and print mediums.
15. Provide and perform technical proofing of all designs, final presentations and samples prior to final production to ensure no faults in the end product.
16. Collaborate with the marketing team on how to continually improve the effectiveness of promotions and industry’s exposure to international markets.
17. Work with international agencies and production companies for the design and placement of BVI relative advertisements and features to ensure the department meets its objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
18. Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions to ensure awareness of changes in policies or procedures within the industry.
19. Represent Government at industry conferences, seminars, exhibitions and other public forums in order to effectively and efficiently promote the Territory.
20. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Graphic/Multimedia Production or related field
  • Four (4) years working experience in a related area
  • Valid BVI driver’s licence
  • Sound knowledge of the Government structure, policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Corel design
  • Excellent knowledge of elements and principles of design, using desktop publishing, visual communication and computer design software
  • Excellent knowledge of visual interpretation, image selection, colour theory, font selection and content distribution
  • Sound knowledge of paid and earned medial channels
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of all media equipment
  • Excellent coordination, prioritization and communication skill
  • Excellent analytical and research skills along with a strong artistic/creative capacity
  • Sound knowledge of the use of standard office equipment
