Role Summary
The successful applicant will assist the Incinerator Plant Manager in the technical, personnel and administrative management of the incinerator plant facility.
Main Responsibilities
- Implements training and development programs for all new personnel with the advice and consent of the Plant Manager.
- Supports the Plant Manager by taking responsibility of ensuring that the scheduling, maintenance, safety, cleanliness and record keeping procedures are implemented as delegated by the Plant Manager.
- Coordinates shifts scheduling and vacation roster for staff.
- Researches, analyses and prepares reports.
- Assists in the coordination of hosting tour groups.
- Ensures the efficient operation of the incinerator plant in the absence of the Plant Manager.
- Assumes shared responsibility for on call emergency maintenance or repairs to the incinerator plant and equipment.
- Assists with maintaining records and inventory levels for the department ensuring supplies are in stock, liaises with local and overseas suppliers and vendors and prepares requisition ensuring accuracy.
- Provides hands on technical assistance during periods of heavy work load in the maintenance of equipment.
- Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as instructed to ensure awareness of any change in policies or procedures which may be relevant to your role.
- Performs any other duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officers in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the unit.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Certificate or equivalent
- Certified Plant Operator/Technician
- Training in mechanics
- Seven (7) years working experience in a mechanical related field in a supervisory position
- Sound knowledge of Government structure, policies and procedures
- Sound knowledge of incinerator plant operations
- Sound supervisory and organisational skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
