Role Summary

The successful applicant will assist the Incinerator Plant Manager in the technical, personnel and administrative management of the incinerator plant facility.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Implements training and development programs for all new personnel with the advice and consent of the Plant Manager.
  2. Supports the Plant Manager by taking responsibility of ensuring that the scheduling, maintenance, safety, cleanliness and record keeping procedures are implemented as delegated by the Plant Manager.
  3. Coordinates shifts scheduling and vacation roster for staff.
  4. Researches, analyses and prepares reports.
  5. Assists in the coordination of hosting tour groups.
  6. Ensures the efficient operation of the incinerator plant in the absence of the Plant Manager.
  7. Assumes shared responsibility for on call emergency maintenance or repairs to the incinerator plant and equipment.
  8. Assists with maintaining records and inventory levels for the department ensuring supplies are in stock, liaises with local and overseas suppliers and vendors and prepares requisition ensuring accuracy.
  9. Provides hands on technical assistance during periods of heavy work load in the maintenance of equipment.
  10. Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as instructed to ensure awareness of any change in policies or procedures which may be relevant to your role.
  11. Performs any other duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officers in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the unit.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Certificate or equivalent
  • Certified Plant Operator/Technician
  • Training in mechanics
  • Seven (7) years working experience in a mechanical related field in a supervisory position
  • Sound knowledge of Government structure, policies and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of incinerator plant operations
  • Sound supervisory and organisational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
