Steps to take when importing an animal.
Process
Step 1: Review the following conditions for animals and fill out the Animal Import Permit form.
- Conditions for Importation of Bees
- Conditions for Importation of Birds (Endangered and Protected CITES)
- Conditions for Importation of Birds
- Conditions for Importation of Dogs and Cats from non-scheduled (rabies endemic) countries
- Conditions for Importation of Dogs and Cats from scheduled (rabies non-endemic) countries
- Conditions for Importation of Cattle
- Conditions for Importation of Dolphins
- Conditions for Importation of Equine
- Conditions for Importation of Pigs
- Conditions for Importation of Rabbits
- Conditions for Importation of Small Ruminants
- Conditions for Importation of Ferrets
- Conditions for Importation of Guinea Pigs, Mice and Hamsters
- Conditions for Importation of Lemur Catta
- Conditions for Importation of Poultry, Hathcing Eggs and Day Old Chicks
- Conditions for Importation of Turtles and Reptiles
- Conditions for Importation of Other Animals (Ornamental Fish)
Step 2: Submit the form to the department.
Step 3: Veterinary Officer prepares the Import Permit and faxes/emails permit to the customer.
Step 4: Veterinary Officer goes to the port of entry on scheduled date and examines animal.
Step 5: Customer pays the necessary fees.
