At 500 AM, the centre of Hurricane Dorian was located near latitude 20.5 North, longitude 66.6 West. At this distance the hurricane has moved approximately 195 miles away from the BVI.

The BVI Airports Authority announces the phased approach closure of the Territory’s airports, today, Wednesday, 28 August 2019, due to the passage of Tropical Storm Dorian.
At 5:00 a.m., the centre of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 63.9 West. Dorian is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue during the next few days.
